In April 2010, Google lead the top ten sites (US stats only), with a unique audience of nearly 160 million users. The stats are provided by The Neilsen Company.
What’s interesting is that Google was the only group of properties that enjoyed an increase in time spent on their sites, whereas all of the other properties experienced a decline.
This is likely because the Google sites include the popular video site YouTube. This may also include applications like Gmail and other tools that are growing in size and scope, something that Google continues to leverage to its advantage.
In April 2010, only 4 of the top 10 sites sawe an actual increase in traffic, including Google, Facebook, NewsCorp (owner of Fox and the Wall Street Journal) and Apple.
