In social circles, there are three major ways to communicate your support for a specific social platform:

  • Facebook’s ‘Like’ button
  • Twitter’s ‘Tweet’ button or the Twitter ‘Share’
  • Google’s new ‘+1’ button

The following chart shows the rate of adoption with the three:

The data comes from BrightEdge, and shows how Google’s new ‘+1’ feature is already more popular than the Twitter Share or Instant Follow feature.

All of these tools point to simple ways to helping your fans share your content and spread the word for you.  We lean towards emphasizing the Google ‘+1’ feature because it’s the same ‘+1’ feature that’s now available when you do searches or compare other products when you’re logged in with Google.
